The Darkwood River’s waters seem black, both because of the lack of light coming from above as well as heavy deposits of a dark soil throughout the forest. This water is potable for a short period of time, though it is very gritty. Subsisting entirely off of this water for more than a few days, however, will result in illness. Longer periods of time will result in death.
